Household Hazardous Materials (HHM) from residents can be brought to the SCISWA Landfill or the Poweshiek Transfer Station on Wednesdays by appointment only.  HHM is accepted free of charge from residents of Lucas, Marion, Monroe and Poweshiek counties.

Hazardous waste from Very Small Quantity Generators (i.e., small businesses with less than 220 pounds per month) can also use the drop-off facilities with some restrictions. Go to the small business services page for more information.

  • Fluorescent light bulbs (unbroken tubes or corkscrew-shaped bulbs)
