The SCISWA Landfill and Transfer Station sites have transitioned to solar powered energy!  Using grant funds provided by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, the Agency has installed rooftop solar arrays at both locations capable of providing all energy needs for the offices and transfer station.  This emission reduction is equivalent to removing 8 passenger cars from the road, every year!  At SCISWA we are committed to reducing our environmental impact and prove it by showing continual improvement in six categories annually:  water quality improvement, organics management, household hazardous waste management, greenhouse gas emission reduction, recycling, and environmental education.  For more information about the Agency’s Environmental Management System contact us at 641-828-8545.
