Elementary students in third through fifth grades from Lucas, Marion, Monroe, and Poweshiek counties were invited to submit a poster illustrating ways to reduce food waste disposal at the landfill.  Twenty-five posters were selected by the SCISWA Environmental Management Core Team to be printed in the 2020 SCISWA Calendar.

Calendars are available to the public at the landfill and transfer station offices by December 11.  Calendars and prizes will be distributed to each third, fourth and fifth grade student in the service area the week of December 16-20.  Thank you to all of the students who participated in this year’s contest as well as the school staff and parents who supported them!
